M60 LIVE updates with long delays after crash stops traffic

Motorists are facing long delays on the M60 near Bury this morning following a crash.

Traffic was temporarily held on the M60 clockwise from J17 A56 Bury New Road (Prestwich / Whitefield) to J18 M66 J4 (Simister Island). Congestion to J13 (Worsley). All lanes have since been reopened.

It is not yet clear whether anyone was injured in the collision. Drivers are currently facing delays of around 40 minutes in the area after the earlier temporary closure.

Greater Manchester Police has been contacted for more information.

The exit slip road previously closed has now been reopened.

There is congestion stretching to J13 (Worsley).

A lane has been closed on the exit slip road to the M66 northbound.
