Live updates as serious crash closes A48 in both directions

A serious crash has closed a main road in both direction. South Wales Police say the A48 is shut in both directions near Bonvilston, between the Forage farm shop and Five Mile Lane.

Police expect the road to remain closed for some time and are advising drivers to seek alternative routes. Traffic maps show there is congestion in the area and the incident happened shortly before 6pm on Tuesday.
