M60 live updates as two incidents cause long traffic delays on three Greater Manchester motorways

Drivers are facing long queues on three Greater Manchester motorways ahead of rush hour.

An incident on the M60 clockwise near junction 17, at Prestwich and Whitefield, is causing delays this morning (September 2).

Queues are tailing back for several miles approaching the scene.

Google data shows traffic tailing back past junction 13 for Worsley.

The incident also appears to be affecting traffic on the M60 anticlockwise and M62 westbound approaching junction 17.

Queues are tailing back past Simister Island, towards junction 19 at Heywood and Middleton.

There are also delays on the M61 southbound approaching the ring road, with 15-minute queues according to the Inrix traffic monitoring service.

A post from Inrix added: "M60 clockwise partially blocked, slow traffic due to obstruction on the road at J17 A56 Bury New Road (Prestwich / Whitefield)."
