LIVE: M60 major delays as stretch of motorway SHUT due to 'police incident' - latest updates
There are long delays on the M60 this morning with a stretch of the ring road having been shut off.
The motorway has been closed in both directions between junction 6, for Sale, and junction 8, for Carrington.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) say they are dealing with a 'concern for welfare incident.'
Diversions are in place with delays of at least an hour and a half in both directions.

National Highways says the queues on the M60 are now up to two hours long
The Bee Network says some bus services in Trafford are being delayed by up to 20 minutes due to the knock-on congestion fom the closure.
In a recent update, National Highways said there delays of 'at least' 90 minutes in both directions.
"If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey" they said.
They added: "Due to the nature of the incident, we are unable to provide an estimated re-opening time."
According to the traffic service Inrix, the queues stretch back to junction 25 for Brinnington clockwise, and junction 12, Eccles Interchange, in the opposite direction.
There are also delays on alternative routes.
They say there is queueing on the M56 back to junction 7 for Bowdon.
Whilst it is 'very slow' on all routes into the city centre from Stretford and Longsight.
In their latest update, National Highways say there are currently delays of at least an hour in both directions as police continue working at the scene
