Live updates as major UK and European airports warn of delays caused by cyber attack

Passengers flying from major UK and European airports are facing delays today due to disruption caused by a cyber attack. Heathrow Airport said passengers should check their flight status before travelling to the west London airport after "a technical issue" affected a service provider for check-in and boarding systems.

Delays have also been reported at Brussels and Berlin. With automated systems down staff are having to conduct manual check-in and boarding procedures, according to Brussels Airport.

The disruption is likely to cause delays and cancellations of flights.
