M60 LIVE: Motorway shut with severe traffic delays as police respond to incident - latest updates
Traffic has been stopped on the M60 and a nearby A-road as police respond to an incident.
All vehicles are being held on the M60 clockwise between junctions 22 at Failsworth and 23 at Ashton-under-Lyne.
The A635 Manchester Road is also blocked westbound as officers respond to the incident.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Emergency services are responding to an incident on the M60, near Manchester Road, after reports of a concern for welfare.

"Road closures are currently in place between Junction 23 and 24 on the motorway."
A post from the Inrix traffic monitoring service said: "All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to police incident on M60 clockwise from J22 A62 Manchester Road (Failsworth) to J23 A6140 Moss Way (Ashton Under Lyne).
"All traffic stopped at around 11:50. A635 Manchester road is blocked westbound."

The M60 is now reopen and the incident has been 'resolved', National Highways have said.
But drivers are being warned there are still long delays in the area.

This map from Traffic England shows the current state of delays in the area. Queues are backing up from junction 23 past junction 21 at Chadderton.
Traffic is also building up on Broadway heading towards the M60.
Traffic is being taken off the motorway at the exit slip road of junction 23.
