M60 lanes reopen to traffic after crash in Greater Manchester

Delays have cleared on the M60 following a crash has left two lanes closed tonight (Friday, January 3). The lanes were shut to traffic on the clockwise carriageway near Junction 15 (Swinton Interchange).

The closures were first reported shortly after 6pm. Images show traffic queueing in the area as a result and traffic had returned to normal by around 6.40pm.

Inrix, the traffic data company, said: "Traffic easing, earlier accident on M60 clockwise at J15 M61 J1 (Swinton Interchange). Traffic has been released."

There are still reports of queues following the earlier collision.

Highways England and Inrix are now reporting that the crash has been cleared, and the lanes have been re-opened.

The incident is affecting the clockwise carriageway of the motorway near Swinton.
