M4 section closed due to 'serious' crash - live updates

A part of the M4 eastbound between Carmarthenshire and Swansea is currently closed following a "serious" road traffic collision.

The M4 eastbound closed and there is queuing traffic due to accident between J48 A4138 Pontardulais Road (Hendy/ Llanelli ) and J47 A483 (Penllergaer/ Swansea West Services), according to Inrix.

Traffic Wales has warned motorists to avoid the area and find an alternative route for their journey. In an update issued at around 1.55pm on X, they wrote: "M4 eastbound between J48 Hendy & J47 Penllergaer remains closed due to a serious road traffic collision". According to Inrix, trapped traffic is being allowed past the scene.
