'Ludicrous!' - Manchester United fans fume at Erik ten Hag decision vs Liverpool FC
Manchester United supporters have been left shocked after Erik ten Hag chose to hand Scott McTominay the captain's armband against Liverpool.
McTominay has been in fine goalscoring form this season but he has been criticised for some of his recent performances. Despite this, he has been entrusted with the armband for one of the biggest tests of the season. Elsewhere, Jonny Evans returns to the starting XI to accompany Raphael Varane at centre-back.
There is also a welcome appearance for Luke Shaw after his injury scare in midweek. Kobbie Mainoo makes his first-ever senior appearance against the Merseyside club.

With the team news now in, here is how the Reds' fanbase has reacted to the McTominay decision:
United travel to Anfield more in hope than expectation after a difficult week. Ten Hag's side lost 3-0 at home to AFC Bournemouth last weekend before crashing out of Europe after a 1-0 loss against Bayern Munich.
Reports this week have suggested Sir Jim Ratcliffe has met Graham Potter about becoming the Reds manager at some stage in the future. MEN Sport understands the pressure on the Dutchman will increase should United be beaten badly at Anfield.
Last season the Reds lost 7-0 at Liverpool and some United fans have been fearing a repeat result today against Jurgen Klopp's in-form team.
There are also a number of notable absentees in the squad with captain Bruno Fernandes missing due to suspension. Harry Maguire is also missing for the Reds due to an injury he sustained in the Champions League defeat.
