Long delays after M4 closed in both directions - live updates

There are long delays on the M4 after an earlier police incident shut the motorway in both directions. The road is now re-open but long tailbacks are affecting stretches between J23A Magor to J26 Malpas travelling westbound, and J29 Castleton to J26 Malpas travelling eastbound.

Travel time is 75 minutes with stop-start traffic on the M4 Eastbound around J27 B4591 (Highcross).

There is congestion is stretching back to the A48(M) on the Eastbound side. There are also long delays on roads through Newport as traffic diverts. Earlier the road was closed for around 50 minutes until around 3.50pm.
