Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland to shut 53 branches including one in Greater Manchester - full list
Lloyds Banking Group is set to close 53 bank branches in the coming year, including in Greater Manchester. Among those affected, 21 are Lloyds banks, 22 are Halifax sites and 10 belong to the Bank of Scotland (BoS). It means another hit to in-person banking and follows a growing move to online banking across the country.
Lloyds and BoS customers are being advised to check for a mobile branch in their area. However, these are only available until May 2024 and do not offer cash services.

One of the branches set to close later on in 2024 is a Halifax bank in Preswich. Banking customers can also see if there is a 'banking hub' in their area. This allows them to visit a community banker in a shared public space, such as a library, who can provide some services they may need.
Meanwhile, cheques, cash withdrawals, and balance checking can be done at a Post Office.
