Luke Littler rival weighs in on star with fresh verdict after opponent left fuming

Luke Littler has been 'ruffling feathers' with his amazing darts skills, says rival James Wade. The youngster has burst on to the darts scene with a bang.

Just a year ago, not many people knew who Luke 'The Nuke' Littler was. But now, at 17, he's becoming the most famous man in darts. He's expected to be one of the best for a long time.

Leading darts player James Wade said in his Daily Star newspaper column: "Littler continues to make the game look extremely easy.

"He's hitting nine-darters, winning tournaments and ruffling a few feathers in the process. He is extremely good for our sport and everyone will reap the rewards from high viewing figures, wider interest and a new audience."

This news comes after Littler had a bust-up with another darts player, Ricardo Pietreczko. He called the teenager 'arrogant' after Littler beat him in a big darts competition last week.

Ricardo said he hopes Luke's attitude will cause him problems.

Pietreczko was not pleased with the way Littler acted at the oche, suggesting that the World Championship runner-up has become too big for his boots since making a name for himself. However, Littler responded in a typically grown-up way, telling Sky Sports: "It has all come quicker than I even imagined for myself and my family but I just have to thank myself for how well I played at the World Championships and then keeping this good form up."

"Hitting a nine-darter, especially in front of that crowd, it was an amazing achievement for myself... I think, ever since I have burst onto the scene, I know every player wants to beat me."
