Livingston forward 'at peace' with future amid transfer speculation
Livingston forward Joel Nouble says he’s ‘at peace’ with his future - regardless of where that lies.
The 27-year-old Englishman is the subject of rumours and interest as the Lions look to cash in on their prized asset before the summer transfer window closes.
But the former Aldershot Town man admits the club have every right to try and get as large a sum as possible and says he’d be ‘delighted’ to be plying his trade in West Lothian for the remainder of the season.
Livi boss David Martindale revealed the club have already turned down a ‘cheeky’ offer from a fellow SPFL Premiership club.
Nouble, who is out of contract next summer, says: “All I can do is focus on my football. I’ve never been in this position where there’s a lot of speculation about me but I’m all right.
“At the moment, there is nothing serious because, if there was, the gaffer would have told me. I can’t control what other teams and what Livingston are going to do.
“All I can do is enjoy my football. I’m not in a bad position playing Premiership football, am I? If I get the move and it’s something I want to do, then I would thank Livingston for giving me the opportunity.
“If not, I’d be delighted to play in the Premiership for another season. I can’t be mad about that.
“That’s the business of football and 100 per cent I get where Livingston are coming from. If I were in their position, I’d do the same.”
He added: “The manager’s been very honest from the end of last season until now. He said he’ll only tell me if it’s serious. He doesn’t want to tell me if someone calls saying they like me because everyone likes somebody. I would like a Ferrari but it doesn’t mean I am going to get it.
