Live updates as major road closed in both directions due to police incident

Emergency services are in attendance at an incident near the M48 Severn Bridge. The road is closed in both directions between J2 Newhouse and J1 Aust.

According to Traffic monitoring site Inrix, all traffic is being held due to a 'police incident' on the bridge. Traffic Wales South advised motorists to avoid the area.

There is stationary traffic in the area as commuters try to get home during rush hour.
