LIVE updates as M60 drivers face long delays following serious crash

Traffic has been stopped on a stretch of the M60 in Salford after a 'serious' crash.

It has happened on the clocwise stretch of the motorway between junction 13 for Worsley and junction 14, for the East Lancs Road.

Traffic is being held whilst emergency crews respond to 'multiple vehicle collision' National Highways said.

"All emergency services and #TrafficOfficers are working at the scene. There are delays of 30 minutes on the approach" they said.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have been approached for further information.

The traffic service Inrix said congestion currently stretches back to junction 9 following the 'serious accident.'

"Traffic is also slow on opposite carriageway due to onlookers" they added.
