BREAKING: Greater Manchester schools 'on lockdown' amid 'man with knife' - live updates
At least two Greater Manchester schools are understood to be 'on lockdown' as police respond to an incident.
Parents and guardians have been contacted following reports of a man with a knife on Bowlee Park, in Middleton, this morning (June 13).
The Manchester Evening News has seen correspondence from Bowlee Park Community School, stating that the school has been locked down 'as a precaution'.
It says: "School have received information that an individual has been seen on the park carrying a knife.
"School have locked down as a precautionary measure. Children are safe in school.
"The police are dealing with the incident. Please do not come to school.
"We will give you a further update when we have more information."

The M.E.N. understands St Mary's RC Primary School has also been locked down.
It's not currently known how many other schools in the surrounding area have taken the same action.
Edgar Wood Academy, which is also close to the park, confirmed it has not locked down but it is monitoring the situation and keeping pupils safe.
A school spokesperson told the M.E.N.: "We are aware that there is an incident in the vicinity and the police are involved.
"We are complying and working with external agencies to ensure that our community is safe.
"If you have any further concerns please contact us. We are regularly reviewing the situation."
Greater Manchester Police confirmed it is in attendance. No suspicious items have yet been located.
