M60 LIVE traffic updates as emergency services respond to three-vehicle crash

The emergency services are responding following a collision on the M60 near Stockport this afternoon.

The incident is believed to have taken place on the anticlockwise carriageway of the M60 near junction 26 at Bredbury. It has caused a huge tailback stretching back to M56 at Northenden.

We are awaiting updates on the incident from the emergency services and provide updates below.

The incident is a three-vehicle crash between junctions 26 and 27 which happened at around 1.20pm, a spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police has just confirmed.

Highways England is co-ordinating the emergency services effort.

Traffic information service Inrix says: "One lane closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M60 anticlockwise after J27 A560 Great Portwood Street (Portwood Roundabout). Congestion to all the way back to J3 A34, with the M56 queuing back to J2."
