Live updates as lane closures causes severe delays on the M4

Lane closures are causing severe delays on the M4 on Saturday. A number of junctions are seeing congestion near Newport because of the weekend closure of junction 26 for Malpas.

The junction is shut eastbound for weekend repair work and will not reopen until Monday, February 26 at 6am. There are lane closures on approach to the closure and diversions in place with people asked to exit to the Malpas Interchange Roundabout and re-join from the entry slip road.

Traffic cameras show heavy congestion on some parts of the M4 including at junction 27 High Cross. There are severe delays and congestion to the A4051 Malpas Road. Bus services are also reporting disruption as a result.
