Live updates as M4 and A470 drivers issued with warning

There is a warning of 'poor driving conditions' on parts of the M4 and A470 this morning.

Traffic Wales, which monitors are the major roads in Wales, says it is particularly bad between junction 30 Cardiff Gate and the end of the motorway at junction 49 Pont Abraham. Conditions on the A470 are difficult too, with a warning in place for the section between Coryton near Cadiff and Cefn Coed at Merthyr Tydfil.

Heavy rain is falling in the area this morning. The Met Office forecast for Wales today says: "A wet start to the day with outbreaks of rain and brisk winds across the country. The rain heavy at times over the hills. Slowly becoming drier through the afternoon, though further spells of rain are still possible."

Natural Resources Wales has got 13 flood warnings and 11 flood alerts in place, mainly around coastal areas where high tides combine with recent rainfall.
