Bury Market police incident LIVE updates with large cordon in town centre
A large cordon is in place in Bury town centre this afternoon after a serious incident.
Police and paramedics are on the scene on Murray Road, near to the Mill Gate Shopping Centre. The air ambulance also landed nearby.
Three people have been taken to hospital following an incident, a spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service said. GMP said the extent of their injuries is 'unclear' at this time.

An area is now taped off by officers. In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Greater Manchester Police are currently responding to an incident on Murray Road, Bury. The extent of the injuries sustained by those involved are unclear at this time, but officers are at the scene to conduct further enquiries.
"Anyone with information that may help is asked to call 101 quoting incident 1338 of 11/03/2024."
A spokesperson for NWAS said: "NWAS responded to a police incident following a call at 12.06. Three patients have been taken to hospital."

Greater Manchester Police have just issued an updated statement on the ongoing incident in Bury this afternoon.
A spokesperson told the M.E.N:
Greater Manchester Police are still responding to an incident on Murray Road, Bury.
Officers remain at the scene to conduct further enquiries into what is believed to be a stabbing.
The extent of the injuries sustained by three victims are thankfully not thought to be life-threatening.
No arrests have been made at this time.
