M4 crash live updates as part of road shut

Part of the M4 has been closed following a serious crash. The incident happened at around 7am between junction 34 A4119 Miskin and junction 35 A475 Pencoed near Bridgend.

Police have closed the stretch from junction 33 Cardiff West to junction 35 Bridgend. All traffic is being diverted off the M4 at junction 33.

A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "Emergency Services are at the scene of a serious collision on the M4.

"The road is currently closed on the westbound side from Junction 33 Cardiff West to Junction 35 Bridgend. All traffic is being diverted off the M4 at Junction 33.

"It is expected to remain closed for some time; please avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. We're grateful for your patience."
