LIVE Police swarm road near train station after stabbing - updates

There's a large police cordon in place in south Manchester this evening (Friday, March 7) following a stabbing.

Albert Road near Levenshulme railway station is taped off with police and an ambulance pictured at the scene. An air ambulance has also been pictured having landed on a nearby field.

There are unconfirmed reports of a stabbing having taken place. Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for a comment.

A police forensic tent has now been put up at the scene. This suggests crime scene investigators have been called out.

We've had a statement from GMP now. A spokesperson confirmed
