LIVE: Police close off Greater Manchester street after shooting - latest updates

Officers have taped off a residential street in Greater Manchester following a suspected shooting.

Police are in attendance on Green Lane, in Middleton, this morning (March 13).

Officers were first called out to the scene at around 10pm on Wednesday night, with police in attendance overnight.

A section of Green Lane has been taped off in both directions between Birch Road and Hazel Road.

Images from the scene show yellow police tape on the street to protect a crime scene, with people being urged to avoid the area.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Shortly before 10pm on Wednesday, March 12 2025, we were called to reports of a suspected firearms discharge on Green Lane, in Middleton.

"Police arrived, and no one was injured at the scene. No arrests have been made at this stage in the investigation, and enquiries are ongoing."

A number of GMP vehicles are in attendance this morning, and officers are manning the cordon.
