LIVE: Metrolink stop cordoned off by police after two teens hit by tram - latest updates

Two teenage boys have been taken to hospital after they were hit by a tram. The pair, who were on a bike, were hit at the Metrolink stop at Southmoor Road in Wythenshawe.

A police spokesman confirmed the incident happened at about 8.30pm tonight. The boys' injuries are not believed to be serious, but the pair have been taken to hospital.

The station is currently cordoned off by police. There is a large police presence in the area.

A witness who saw the scene told the MEN: “It looked like a really bad incident as loads of emergency services were there people are getting off the tram. There were about ten service vehicles and two ambulances” @MENnewsdesk
