LIVE: Busy road closed off by police after serious incident - latest updates

A busy road in Stockport has been closed off both ways this morning due to a police incident.

Reddish Road is currently shut between Abingdon Road and Southcliffe Road, according to traffic alert service Inrix. Police are on the scene.

There are reports that a person has been knocked down by a vehicle, though this has not yet been confirmed. Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for a comment.

A tweet posted by MancTraffic said: "Reddish Rd, South Reddish CLOSED from Abingdon Rd to Ormskirk Rd after a pedestrian knockdown by Orange Park. Queues both ways on approach with traffic diverting using Ambleside Rd, Abingdon Rd, Broadstone Hall Rd South and Greg St."
