LIVE: Building CRUMBLES to the ground after major crash with cordon in place - latest updates
Part of a building has crumbled to the ground after a major collision in Heywood in the early hours of this morning.
A large police scene is in place on Bridge Street in the town centre following the crash, in which a car appears to have struck the front of a building.
Police and the fire service remain in attendance with the road blocked off in both directions following the incident.

Dramatic scene pictures show a heap of bricks and debris on the ground, with the inside of the building exposed. A van was also seen within the cordon.
Further details about the incident have not been confirmed. Greater Manchester Police and the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service have been approached for a statement.

Bridge Street remains closed in both directions due to the incident. The closure is in force St James Street to Garden Street.
