LIVE Huge emergency response near Metrolink stop amid serious police incident - updates
A huge emergency response is currently in attendance near a tram stop in south Manchester amid a serious police incident.
Police, paramedics and fire crews are at Brownley Road in Wythenshawe, near to the Crossacres tram stop this afternoon.
Tram services to Manchester Airport have been halted due to the ongoing incident, which witnesses claimed involved a Metrolink tram vehicle. This is yet to be confirmed.

Further details about the nature of the incident have not yet been confirmed. Greater Manchester Police and the North West Ambulance Service have been approached for a statement.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Emergency services are currently responding to reports of a serious incident on the tram network at Crossacres tram stop in Wythenshawe.
"A boy was struck by a tram and has been taken to hospital with life-changing and potentially life-threatening injuries.
"Trams to Manchester Airport have been suspended whilst emergency service personnel conduct their enquiries."
The North West Ambulance Service confirmed a patient has been seriously injured after being involved in a collision with a tram this afternoon.
The 999 alert happened at around 3.37pm. The patient, understood to have been a young boy, was rushed to hospital from the scene.
Multiple resources were sent to the scene, including advanced clinicians, an air ambulance and operational commander.
A large scene remains in place this evening with police and fire crews also in attendance.
There are unconfirmed reports of a collision between a tram and a child in Wythenshawe this afternoon.
