LIVE: Forensic tent in place near M61 with police on scene - latest updates

A forensic tent is in place on a pathway near the M61 in Bolton this afternoon with police on the scene.

The tent has been erected just off near Station Road, on the border of Horwich and Blackrod, near the back of a recycling centre. A police cordon is currently in place around the tent.

Crime scene investigators are currently on the scene, as well as a number of police vehicles. Officers have reportedly been in attendance since earlier this morning (Monday).

The nature of the incident has not yet been confirmed. Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for details.
