Heavy traffic as Princess Road closed due to ongoing police incident - latest updates

The A5103 Princess Road has been closed following a crash. Traffic has built up on the major road during rush hour on Wednesday (January 24).

According to traffic monitoring tool, Inrix, the collision occurred between Nell Lane and Cavendish Road affecting causing heavy congestion near the Southern Cemetery on Barlow Moor Road.

The MEN understands that the traffic was caused after a woman collided with a car. Police say she has been taken to hospital.

Inrix says: "A5103 Princess Road Northbound closed, slow traffic due to accident from Nell Lane to Cavendish Road. Affecting traffic near the cemetery. Source:INRIX Speed Sensors, Police."

According to Inrix all lanes have been reopened but there are still reports of long delays

The traffic monitoring tool says: "Long delays due to earlier accident on A5103 Princess Road Northbound from Nell Lane to Cavendish Road. Congestion to Wythenshawe. All lanes have been re-opened."
