LIVE: Storm Jocelyn latest updates as weather warning issued amid 'do not travel' advice

Storm Jocelyn is continuing to make its presence felt today with more strong winds. Greater Manchester is covered by a yellow weather warning from the Met Office, along with several other areas of the country.

The warning runs until 1pm this afternoon (January 24). The Met Office warns people should expect disruption to travel, potential damage to buildings, and possible power cuts as a result.

Jocelyn's arrival so soon after Storm Isha could also slow down recovery from the last storm in some areas, the Met Office says. It comes as National Rail has issued 'do not travel' advice to passengers on some services running through Greater Manchester.

The warning has been issued for people not to travel north of Preston, Lancashire, on Avanti West Coast or TransPennine Express services running to Scotland from the North West of England this morning. A more severe amber weather warning is in force for areas of Scotland today.

Manchester is currently forecast for a dry day with sunny intervals and a maximum temperature of 10C. Wind speeds of up to 39 mph are expected this morning, before the storm calms down this afternoon.
