LIVE: Double motorway mayhem on M6 and M62 as crashes cause major delays - latest updates
Three lanes of traffic have been closed on the M62 near Manchester following a crash.
Drivers are facing queues on the eastbound carriageway between junctions 11 at Birchwood and 12 at the M60 Eccles Interchange this afternoon (August 4).
Queues are now 'severe', according to the Inrix traffic monitoring service.
A post from Inrix said: "Severe delays and three lanes closed due to accident on M62 Eastbound from J11 A574 Birchwood Way (Birchwood) to J12 M60 J12 (Eccles Interchange).

Drivers are also facing delays on the M6 nortbound on the Thelwall Viaduct approaching junction 21, following a four-vehicle crash.
Traffic was briefly stopped but the motorway has since reopened.
Drivers are facing 'severe delays' following the crash, according to Inrix.

The queues followed a separate incident to the M62 crash.
Four vehicles were involved in a collision on the northbound carriageway, on the Thelwall Viaduct.
Traffic was briefly stopped, but has since reopened.

National Highways says drivers are facing 50-minute queues.
