LIVE: Counter-terror police make three arrests in Greater Manchester related to 'plot to target specific premises' - latest updates

Three men have been arrested across Greater Manchester following a series of dramatic counter terrorism raids linked to a 'plot to target specific premises'.

Armed counter terrorism police swooped on a house in Rochdale on Saturday evening (May 3). Neighbours reported hearing a 'bang' before a man, who was shirtless, was seen being led out by officers. The Metropolitan Police have now confirmed a 40-year-old man was arrested in Rochdale.

The M.E.N. now understands the Rochdale raid was one of three carried out in the region on Saturday. A 29-year-old man arrested in the Stockport area, and a man whose age was not confirmed arrested in the Manchester area, the force said.

Searches were also carried out in London and Swindon in connection to the plot, with a 29-year-old man arrested in the Swindon area, and a 46-year-old man arrested in west London. It is believed four of the men are Iranian nationals.
