LIVE: Armed police spotted on residential street as scene in place - latest updates

There is a large police presence with a scene in place at a street in Rochdale this evening.

Armed police were spotted outside a property on East Street, off Rochdale Road, next to the Firgrove Playing Field.

Police vans and cars, along with armed officers have been spotted at the scene.

The precise nature of the incident is not yet known.

Greater Manchester Police have been approached for further information.
