Manuel Ugarte terms agreed, Ivan Toney signs - Man United dream end to transfer window

Manchester United have done the heavy lifting when it comes to their recruitment drive this summer.

However, with nine days remaining for Premier League clubs to strike up further business, there might yet be more to come from Ineos and key figures behind the scenes. United are still in the market for another midfielder and their prime candidate - as it has been for several weeks - is Manuel Ugarte from PSG.

It was thought that the proposed deal was dependent on outgoings - which are still being considered - but United are 'open' to a late change in approach for the Uruguay regular. The Manchester Evening News understands a loan with the option to buy could be priced-up to help them get Ugarte over the line before August 30.

Manuel Ugarte is a deal which needs to happen for United to call this transfer window a success. The midfielder could be United's most important signing of the summer and the difference between them finishing in the top four or not.
