Leicester City transfer talks planned over 'outstanding' player

Preston North End manager Ryan Lowe says he hopes to hold discussions with Brendan Rodgers over the possibility of signing loan goalkeeper Daniel Iversen.

The Lilywhites have had Iversen on-loan from the Foxes since January of last year and has become a popular figure among the supporters at Deepdale.

His current contract has him tied to City until 2025 but the shot-stopper, who turns 25 later this summer, is understood to be keen on settling at a permanent club for next season.

He has yet to make a senior appearance for the Foxes and has spent the past few years on-loan with Oldham Athletic, Rotherham United, Belgian side Oud-Heverlee Leuven and now Preston.

Iversen is one of three loan players who is proving a success at Deepdale alongside Liverpool's Sepp van den Berg and Aston Villa's Cameron Archer.

And PNE boss Lowe has admitted he would like to hold conversations with Rodgers over the possibility of keeping Iversen.

He told LancsLive, who branded Iversen 'outstanding': "We definitely have to plan for the future without them until told otherwise, because they aren't our players.

"I will speak to Brendan Rodgers about Daniel eventually - I know he is a busy man with other things on his mind, not worrying about me and Daniel Iversen.

"With Sepp, Liverpool were in here the other day for a full day, watching what we do and how we go about it. We're in contact with them but again, it's down to Sepp and what he wants to do.

"Cam has only just come and Stevie (Gerrard) will want to have a look at him in pre-season - they are their players. Ultimately, I would've thought that, because of the way they've been with us, if they were available again, we'd take them in a heartbeat.
