Leicester City pair James Maddison and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have both been left at home as precautions following minor injury concerns.

Both players are missing from the matchday squad at Tottenham, manager Brendan Rodgers choosing to make eight changes to his team as he prepares for the second leg of the Europa Conference League semi-final against Roma on Thursday.

The manager has now said that they have been omitted because of minor injury issues, with Dewsbury-Hall suffering from a tight calf and Maddison with a slight hip problem. It is the first game that Dewsbury-Hall has not started in this run of two games a week since the international break.

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is “really happy” with the health and form of his squad ahead of Thursday’s huge clash with Roma.

City lost 3-1 to Tottenham on Sunday in a match that felt secondary to the Europa Conference League semi-final second leg in the Italian capital this Thursday (8pm kick-off). That was reflected in part by Rodgers’ team selection, with eight changes made.

It allowed City’s top stars to get a rest before the meeting with Roma, with Rodgers declaring that he could not risk playing them three times in a week given many of the players’ recent injury issues.
