Leicester City handed injury boost as 'awkward' Jamie Vardy exchange revealed

Good morning, City fans! Here are your latest Leicester City headlines ahead of Thursday's trip to Chelsea.

Ricardo Pereira could make a surprise return to the Leicester City squad for the trip to Chelsea but Youri Tielemans is a doubt for the game.

The Portuguese right-back, who last played in the defeat at Roma, had previously been ruled out for the season by Brendan Rodgers because of hamstring issues. However, he is now back in training.

Tielemans, meanwhile, was involved in a clash of knees in the 5-1 victory over Watford and that may keep him out of the trip to Stamford Bridge. Elsewhere Hamza Choudhury has a groin tear that will keep him from featuring, but Papy Mendy is well again after sickness forced him off at half-time during the win at Vicarage Road. Wilfred Ndidi and Ryan Bertrand remain out.

Chelsea now know that have already secured Champions League football ahead of the upcoming visit of Leicester City after results elsewhere went their way this week.

Newcastle United winning 2-0 against Arsenal on Monday night means that their London rivals cannot catch the reigning European Champions. An own goal from Ben White 10 minutes into the second half was compounded by a Bruno Guimaraes strike five minutes from time to leave Mikel Arteta's side four points adrift of Chelsea with just one match on the final day of the season remaining.

That now means that Thomas Tuchel's side have little else to play for over their final two matches of the season. In the worst-case scenario, they would drop down to fourth place if they lose and Tottenham Hotspur win against Norwich City on Sunday, but that has no impact on their automatic qualification to the Champions League group stages.
