Leicester City questioned as two stars linked with summer exits

Arsenal are reportedly being pushed by manager Mikel Arteta to make Leicester City an opening offer of £25million for midfielder Youri Tielemans.

The Belgium international played the full 90 minutes against Southampton on Sunday in what could turn out to be a final appearance for the club should the persistent rumours about the player's future prove to be true. Tielemans has just over a year left on the City contract signed upon arriving permanently from AS Monaco in 2019.

Arteta's side, who have to settle for Europa League football next campaign after missing out on Champions League qualification to north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on the final day of the season, are said to have identified the 25-year-old as one of their 'leading summer targets' in a midfield position that they are 'prioritising'. While playing in the top tier of European competition is the ambition, it is believed the player and their representatives 'are now open to the prospect' of playing in the second-string tournament.

Caglar Soyuncu has “emerged as a target” for Atletico Madrid, according to reports.

The centre-half made 28 appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ side this season, as the Foxes finished eighth. However, the Turkish defender was named among the substitutes for the club’s last five games, following both Wesley Fofana and Jonny Evans’ returns to fitness.
