Leicester City now in two-way Charles De Ketelaere transfer battle as Leeds snub revealed
Club Brugge forward Charles De Ketelaere is not interested in moving to Leeds United this summer, according to reports in Belgium.
The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Leicester City since the January transfer window, but reports claim that City are yet to make an offer for the player. The same can’t be said for both Leeds United and AC Milan who have also shown an interest.
The two clubs are said to have made an offer to Brugge, with Leeds reportedly willing to pay up to €30 million plus bonuses. The offer is getting close to a fee that would be deemed acceptable by the Belgian club, but the player’s stance is set to have a big say in his future.
According to HLN , the club will ‘have to ignore’ Leeds’ offer at this stage as De Ketelaere himself is not interested in a move to Elland Road due to them fighting against relegation last season.
The report adds that the player is instead ‘convinced’ about a move to AC Milan. However, the Italian club have offered Brugge just €20 million, that has been rejected straight away by the Belgian side.
HLN add that De Ketelaere’s interest in moving to AC Milan comes ‘partly’ from City not yet making their move for the player, therefore hinting that he could be interested in moving to the King Power Stadium should City make an offer that is deemed as acceptable by Brugge.
If City will reignite their interest is still to be seen. The forward is one of the most highly-rated youngsters in Belgium and he is a regular in the national team.
He scored 18 goals and provided a further 10 assists in all competitions last season. The 21-year-old is also able to play in any position across the front line, but was mainly used centrally in 2021/22.
