Charles De Ketelaere left out as he makes transfer decision amid Leicester City and Leeds links

Leicester City transfer target Charles De Ketelaere missed Club Brugge's latest pre-season match.

City have been linked with the Belgium international striker since January, when it was suggested that Leicester were pursuing a move ahead of the summer window. That move has not materialised and is unlikely to do so after manager Brendan Rodgers gave an update on the transfer situation.

De Ketelaere also had interest from Leeds United and AC Milan over the summer, with Leicester said to have retained their interest even though they have not been able to get a deal done. It leaves City the only Premier League club not to have made a first team signing this summer.

The 21-year-old Club Brugge forward is now said to be closing in on a move to Milan after choosing them as his preferred destination. He did not play at all in Club Brugge's Supercup final - the Belgian equivalent of the Community Shield - against Gent over the weekend.

It comes as the final nail in the coffin for any remaining hopes City had of signing the youngster. They are still linked with other players, including Chelsea defender Levi Colwill and PSV's Ibrahim Sangare, though no deals appear to be imminent at this stage. It will take players leaving before Leicester will be signing anyone this summer.
