"Keep it open" - Fabrizio Romano now teases Tottenham and Paratici transfer claim

Tottenham could still make a big attacking signing before the end of the summer transfer window, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. 

Richarlison and Ivan Perisic have already arrived to bolster their offensive output but there is a chance that Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici are not done just yet. 

The biggest name to be linked with a move to Spurs in recent weeks is Leicester City midfielder James Maddison with the attacking midfielder once again impressing last season. 

Maddison scored 18 goals and provided 12 assists in all competitions last season, despite Brendan Rodgers’ side being underwhelming for most of the campaign. 

Conte is eager to add a spark of creativity to the centre of his midfield this summer having already signed Yves Bissouma to provide more solidity. 

Business could well be done with former boss Jose Mourinho too with Tottenham apparently taking a shine to winger Nicolo Zaniolo while the experience of Barcelona forward Memphis Depay also appeals. 

When asked whether or not somebody like Depay or Maddison could be signed, Romano told GIVEMESPORT: “I would keep it open honestly because Fabio Paratici, the director of Tottenham, always works in this kind of opportunity.”

Whether the Italian specifically needs a new offensive threat this summer is almost irrelevant. The big point is that there has been a significant shift in Tottenham’s transfer attitude. 

Big names like Richarlison, Clement Lenglet, and Perisic have all been acquired with unfamiliar efficiency and they seem eager to leave nothing to chance next season, if these reports are anything to go by.
