Latest Man City injury news with Erling Haaland 'niggles' ahead of Chelsea clash

Pep Guardiola and Manchester City have a number of injury concerns heading into their final warm-up game ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

The Citizens are currently gearing up for the final leg of their pre-season tour in the United States against AC Milan in New York and Barcelona in Orlando. Erling Haaland was withdrawn at half-time in both of those fixtures with Guardiola explaining the first of those was pre-planned, but the second enforced by injury.

City are still missing a number of key first-team players who've been on international duty this summer, with competitive action set to resume next weekend when they take on fierce rivals Manchester United in the Community Shield.

Guardiola's side start their Premier League title defence away at Stamford Bridge on August 18 and MEN Sport has put together a round-up of the latest City injury news.

City's talisman up front is a doubt for tonight's game against Chelsea with a couple of muscular niggles that look set to rule him out.

"Erling is not comfortable," Pep said after the game against Barcelona. "He has niggles, muscular; we don't want to take a risk and lose him for three weeks or a month. That would be a problem. He didn't feel good, and that's why he didn't play the second half."

However, the City boss has since given an update, claiming Haaland's condition has improved. Guardiola said: "He is much better. He told me today he woke up much better and hopefully tomorrow he can play a few minutes."

Potential return date: August 10
