Kwon Hyeok-kyu in Celtic transfer spirit as he signs diehard’s PANTS in madcap send-off
Scottish football has been known to throw up more than a few bizarre moments, and imminent Celtic arrival Kwon Hyeok-kyu seems to have the tone nailed down already.
Whether it's Conor Sammon holding a pizza as his man of the match award at Partick Thistle, former Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha having a war of words with angry fans in a bush, or Rod Stewart's over-the-top Scottish Cup draw antics, fans have been blessed with some of the most hilarious content. And in South Korea, it seems to be translating well to Busan IPark midfielder Hyeok-kyu who looks set to arrive in a double swoop for Brendan Rodgers side alongside Yang Hyun-jun.
The aforementioned Yang reportedly spent months bartering for his move to Glasgow, even offering to use his salary to broker a deal with the Scottish champions. The 21-year-old has agreed terms with Celtic and was given a send-off by fans of Gangwon FC, visibly emotional as he addressed the crowd. Meanwhile, countryman Kwon is engaging with fans in a somewhat more bizarre manner.
A tweet posted to social media shows the 22-year-old posing for a picture with a fan after seemingly signing the excited UNDERWEAR. The pair can be seen alongside a pair of boxer shorts that have the logo of La Liga giants Real Madrid on them. A Busan IPark jersey also lies draped across the barrier while Hyeok-kyu seems to be grabbing some food during the impromptu snap.
The K-League 2 star is certainly getting in the spirit of the cinch and will no doubt find himself being asked to sign even more strange items should he arrive at Celtic before the beginning of the new campaign. Rodgers was due to take his side to South Korea as part of a pre-season showdown but instead his men will face Wolves at the Aviva Stadium
