Kate Middleton cancer update LIVE: Princess of Wales issues major health update in moving new video

Kate Middleton has issued a major health update in a moving new video. The Princess of Wales, 42, announced in March she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy following a cancer diagnosis earlier this year.

With her family by her side, the Princess provided an update on her treatment and recovery, with it being announced her chemotherapy treatment has ended.

The Princess' cancer was discovered in post-operative tests after she had major abdominal surgery. She appealed for time, space and privacy when she publicly announced her diagnosis on March 22. Kate later confirmed she was undergoing treatment but did not disclose which type of cancer she had.

Addressing the public in an emotional new video, the Princess, seen spending time with her husband William and three children George, Charlotte and Louis, said her and her family have been 'blown away' by messages of support from well-wishers.

The Princess also confirmed her preventative chemotherapy has now ended, and opened up on the last nine months of her treatment being 'incredibly tough' for her and her family.

"I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment," she says. "The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.

"Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes."
