Jose Mourinho has told Manchester United how he would unleash Antony with loan transfer

Jose Mourinho has explained what he looks for in a winger as Fenerbahce continue to be linked with a swoop for Manchester United player Antony.

Recent reports have claimed the ex-Unitedmanager is keen to sign the Brazilian on loan for the rest of this season. The Sun reports Antony has informed United of his desire to seek a new challenge after a torrid spell at Old Trafford since joining from Ajax two years ago.

It's said United are receptive to facilitating a loan agreement and Fenerbahce are seen as the favourites given the Turkish transfer window is open until Friday. Fenerbahce have a few more days to try and negotiate the terms of a loan deal with United.

Mourinho, meanwhile, has previously told The Guardian what he expects from a wide forward. "A creative player has to use his ability and, if he loses the ball trying to create or score a goal, it's no problem," the Portuguese said.

"If he's just having fun, though, and loses the ball in midfield and then doesn't defend and the team concede, that's a problem. These guys have to go out there to produce, not have fun or look to humiliate an opponent, putting the ball through their legs, it's about being respectful and having objectives."

Speaking when he was still Chelsea manager, Mourinho continued: "I like wingers coming inside for the penetrative movement, for the pass, for the shot. And Juan [Mata] is the only player we have to do that on the right. On the left we have [Eden] Hazard, Victor Moses, Kevin De Bruyne and Andre Schurrle.
