Josie Gibson left to present ITV This Morning alone as Craig Doyle storms off set

This Morning experienced a touch of uncomfortable hilarity as Craig Doyle made an unexpected exit from the set, leaving his co-host Josie Gibson to man the fort solo.

The presenting duo were in conversation with 'Coupon King', 27 year old Jordon Cox, who was sharing a bounty of tips for saving money this season along with how to enjoy tasty dining experiences. The banter escalated as they teased about setting Josie up on a date with Jordon for being so "money savvy", prompting Craig to take his third wheel role to heart.

Craig took it upon himself to initiate the setup, moving Jordon closer to Josie and equipping them with wine glasses while humorously suggesting he might just leave them to it and then he did just that, making his departure from the stage.

While bridging to the Loose Women team, which playfully ribbed Josie about her impromptu 'date', Craig cheekily remarked: "Just gonna pop next door for a minute! Be back in a minute, you guys enjoy yourselves!"

He briskly encouraged them to "Try the veal. Enjoy! Bye babe!", whilst handing plates to Jordon and hurried off. As Jordon and Josie shared a toast, she quipped: "Cheers to you! Thought you'd have given me more than a glass of water though," reports the Mirror.

The amusing episode follows a mishap where Josie almost toppled over on air after Craig's attempt to moonwalk collided with her path. Early in the show, the pair had joined Gyles Brandreth and Tom Swarbrick in dancing to the hit 'Just Can't Get Enough'.

However, despite their enthusiastic efforts, viewers were left feeling second-hand embarrassment at the spectacle.
