John Cena’s status for WWE WrestleMania 38

John Cena will not be appearing at WWE WrestleMania 38 next month, at least if a new report is to be believed.

WWE is pulling out all the stops for this year’s WrestleMania event, not only bringing in celebrities for spots on the card, but also calling back stars of yesteryear.

Along with Johnny Knoxville and Paul Logan, both Vince McMahon and Stone Cold Steve Austin will reportedly be making their shock in-ring returns at the show.

However, it has now emerged that WWE thought about bringing in another top name for the show, but the consideration won’t be materialising into an actual appearance.

Ringside News is reporting that while he was considered, John Cena will not be appearing at WrestleMania and “was never a real possibiliity”

We were told that “Cena was discussed, as was everyone outside of religion and politics, but Cena was never a real possibility.” We were told that is not in the plan at all, but like everything else it was discussed.

Speaking to the media last year, John Cena suggested that an appearance at WrestleMania 38 would be unlikely due to his busy movie schedule, so it isn’t too surprising to hear that he won’t be at the big show.

However, the multi-time WWE Champion has stressed that he is not retired from WWE and will return to the company before too long, which will be music the ears of fans of the 44-year-old.

As noted, WWE won’t exactly be in the worst position without Cena, with the likes of Vince McMahon, The Undertaker, Steve Austin and others coming in for the show.
