John Cena puts supporting Celtic at the 'front of his list' as WWE icon gets a pitch to join the green and white

Legendary WWE superstar John Cena is wrestling with the possibility of becoming a Celtic supporter after receiving a pitch to make the Premiership champions his football team.

The 47-year-old is hanging up the jorts in the coming months and is looking for new hobbies to go alongside his burgeoning career as a bonafide Hollywood star. And radio presenter Shebahn Aherne – a lifelong Celtic supporter – was keen to sell Brendan Rodgers' side to the man who has been world champion on 16 occasions during a 20-year-plus career with the world's biggest sports entertainment brand.

And he could be soon heading down the Celtic Way. Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: "I always say I am looking for a team. Everybody says I'm a Tottenham fan, there has been talks of me being a Chelsea fan. I say I'm looking for a team. I am still trying to figure out the game, the rivalries, so if you have a good pitch I am willing to listen."

And Cena – intrigued by the possibility – added: "That's a decent pitch. I'm from Boston and our basketball team is called the Celtics. So, I'll put that at the front of the list."

Cena would be sharing the directors' box with some big names with the likes of Rod Stewart, James McAvoy, Gerard Butler, Paolo Nutini, Lewis Capaldi and Kevin Bridges among the many who are major followers of Celtic.
