Owen Wijndal emerges as Celtic 'target' as Brendan Rodgers looks to keep Greg Taylor on his toes

Celtic are reportedly keen on a move for Ajax left back Owen Wijndal - with Brendan Rodgers looking to provide competition for Greg Taylor.

The Premiership champions have been on the hunt for another left back since January, after failing in a bid to bring Owen Beck to the club, with the Liverpool youngster instead opting to return to Dundee for a second loan spell. But according to Sky Sports, the Hoops have now made an inquiry about 24-year-old defender Wijndal.

The report claims that the Amsterdam giants are willing to listen to offers for the Netherlands international, who has won 11 caps for his country. They also add that Werder Bremen have also made an inquiry for Wijndal, who spent last season out on loan in Belgium with Royal Antwerp. The Zaandam-born player started his career with AZ Alkmaar and made 143 appearances before joining Ajax at the start of the 2022/23 season.
