Joan Jordan Rangers bid 'rejected' as Sevilla get tough on wages to trigger loan deal

Sevilla have booted out a loan bid from Rangers for Joan Jordan, according to a report.

The Light Blues approached the La Liga outfit in an attempt to bring the 30-year-old to Ibrox for the 2024/24 campaign. The two-time Europa League winner would bring extensive European experience to Philippe Clement' s side after five years with Los Nervionense following a €14million switch from Eibar in 2019. However, Fabrizio Romna claims that the deal is off for now after Sevilla dismissed the Ibrox club's request to cover a portion of the player's wages as part of the deal.

They want his salary covered in full and now expect him to stay unless a more suitable proposal is put forward. Back in 2022, Jordan was struck on the head by a metal pole thrown from the stands after Sevilla scored against city rivals Real Betis in the last 16 of the Copa Del Rey. The match was abandoned and resumed the following day with Jordan absent, Betis winning 2-1.
